Congruent Living Relationships Self Care

Are you clear with what you want in a relationship?

When was the last time you sat with yourself and took the time to become fully clear with what you would like in a relationship, any relationship?

Have you given yourself permission to become curious with what you want in a partner?

The kind of experiences you want to have, the support that you need to feel seen and heard and fully appreciated.

The truth is, when you’re clear on what you truly desire to show up in your life, you find what you’re looking for.

Think about this for a moment.

You’re looking around your house for something.

You don’t know exactly what it is, but you know you’re looking for something.

My question for you today is
How easy is it to find something when you don’t know what it is?

This idea probably seems silly, yet it’s what most people do when asking for a growing relationship.

Time for change

Has this ever happened to you?

You go out looking for someone to complete you, without knowing exactly what you’re looking for, only to find yourself continuously coming up short. Feeling unsatisfied, unfulfilled and frustrated.

Is now the time to change all that?

Whether it’s the relationship you are currently in or one that you want to attract into your life, here’s how to get clear:

Take a moment, pull out your journal, and let’s begin…

What is it that you’re looking for in a relationship?

Write down each thought, idea, feeling, experience that you would like to have.

Allow yourself to tune into your heart and notice what you’re looking for to feel fulfilled.

Give yourself permission to clearly define every aspect of the relationship you want even if it feels weird or silly.

Once you have everything written down, notice which elements are your priorities.

Circle the elements that are your priorities, or your must haves in a relationship.

Then ask yourself, which of these am I willing to be for myself?

You see, no one can be anything for you that you’re not willing to be for yourself.

A relationship is not meant to complete you.

It’s meant to add to the wholeness that you already are.

You see, like energy attracts like energy.

Get clear

If you want to attract a person who has specific qualities and characteristics, or you would love to see your current partner step up and share certain kinds of experiences with you, it all begins with you first.

Here is the home play questions for you this week:

  • What do I really want in a relationship?
  • What are the priorities, or what I need to feel fully supported in my relationship?
  • Where am I willing to be that for myself?
  • What is one thing I can do each day to show up in that way for myself?

As we deep dive into relationships this month, I invite you to play with the idea of becoming what it is that you want to attract into your life.

To have the clarity and the courage to choose what you want and then take the steps, even small steps every day, to become the person you need in a relationship.

Then notice how the feeling of fulfilment, the feeling of being supported, the feeling of love and acceptance naturally unfolds for you.

And as you become exactly what you need for yourself, you’ll begin to notice an allowance for those someones in your life, or your current partner, to show up fully as they are and begin to build a relationship that adds value versus fills a need.
