You’re Not Finished Yet
You’re Not Finished Yet
Someone asked me recently,
“Susan… why aren’t you retired yet?”
It’s a fair question.
Because most of us grew up with a very clear timeline for life.
You work hard.
You raise a family.
You build something meaningful.
And then eventually… you retire.
Almost as if life has a finish line.
But the older I get, the more I see something very different.
Life doesn’t really work that way.
Life moves in chapters.
And every chapter invites us to discover something new about who we are.

Curiosity Is What Keeps Us Alive to Our Lives
For me, life has always been driven by something very simple:
Curiosity.
Curiosity about people.
Curiosity about growth.
Curiosity about what becomes possible when someone begins trusting themselves enough to choose the life that feels true to them.
Curiosity keeps us engaged with life.
The moment we stop being curious, something inside us starts to shrink.
We stop asking questions.
We stop imagining what might still be possible.
And slowly, without even realizing it, we begin living by a script that someone else wrote.
The Role of Self-Trust
One of the most powerful things I’ve learned over the years is that curiosity and self-trust are deeply connected.
Every time you listen to that quiet inner voice…
the one that nudges you toward something new, something meaningful, something true for you…
your self-trust grows.
Not because everything becomes certain.
But because you start to experience something important.
You begin to see that you can trust yourself to make choices.
You can trust yourself to navigate change.
You can trust yourself to keep moving forward.
That’s where real confidence comes from.
Retirement Isn’t the Real Question
For some people this chapter of life includes retirement.
And that can be beautiful.
More time.
More freedom.
More space for the things that matter.
But retirement doesn’t mean retiring from curiosity.
It doesn’t mean retiring from growth.
And it certainly doesn’t mean retiring from becoming who you’re meant to be next.
The real question isn’t:
“When do we stop?”
The real question is:
“What am I still curious about becoming?”
Choosing Your Next Chapter
Every stage of life gives us something we didn’t have before.
Experience.
Perspective.
Wisdom.
And perhaps most importantly…
the freedom to choose again.
To choose how we spend our time.
To choose what matters now.
To choose the direction we want our lives to move.
And every time we make a choice that feels aligned with who we truly are…
our self-trust grows stronger.
Your Sunday Reset
So if you’re in a chapter of life where you’re questioning what comes next, I want you to remember something important.
Your life doesn’t have an expiry date.
You’re not finished becoming.
You’re still discovering who you are.
And you still can choose the life that feels true for you now.
Stay curious.
Trust yourself.
And keep saying yes to what’s next—one B.O.L.D. step at a time.

You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.
One bold step at a time.
