Head vs Heart: How to Stop Overthinking and Start Trusting Yourself

The way you speak to yourself when something goes wrong

is shaping more than you realize.

It’s shaping your confidence.

Your decisions.

And how you show up in your life.

Not your circumstances.

That voice.

The Pattern Most Women Don’t See

There’s a constant conversation happening in your mind.

When something doesn’t go as planned…

when you’re about to step forward…

when you’re unsure…

That voice shows up.

“I should be further along.”

“Why do I keep doing this?”

“I’m not ready.”

“What if this doesn’t work?”

It’s quick.

It’s familiar.

And it feels true.

But here’s the problem—

Just because it’s familiar

doesn’t mean it’s helping you.

Sunday reflection

What That Voice Is Actually Creating

That inner dialogue doesn’t stay in your head.

It shapes how you move.

It makes you hesitate when you already know what you want.

It makes you second-guess decisions you’ve already made.

It keeps you circling instead of moving forward.

And over time, something deeper happens.

You stop trusting yourself.

Not because you’ve lost your ability…

…but because the voice you’re listening to

keeps questioning everything you do.

There Are Two Voices

This is where everything begins to shift.

There isn’t just one voice.

There’s the voice in your head…

and the voice that comes from a deeper place.

The Head

Fast. Reactive. Protective.

It sounds like:

“Be careful.”

“Don’t get this wrong.”

“What will people think?”

“You need more time.”

Your head is trying to protect you.

But protection often keeps you stuck.

The Heart

Steady. Grounded. Clear.

It sounds like:

“You can take the next step.”

“You’ve handled hard things before.”

“You don’t need all the answers right now.”

“What feels right for you?”

Your heart doesn’t remove fear.

It gives you direction.

The Moment That Changes Everything

The shift happens the moment you notice which voice you’re listening to.

Because most people don’t choose the voice—

they default to it.

So here’s a simple reset:

Think of something in your life right now that feels uncertain.

Notice what your head says.

Then pause…

and ask yourself:

“If I were speaking to myself in a way that actually supported me… what would I say?”

Let it be simple.

That’s where self-trust begins.

This Isn’t About Being Positive

This is where people get it wrong.

This isn’t about pretending everything is fine.

It’s about changing the relationship you have with yourself.

Because the way you speak to yourself

is shaping the life you’re creating.

Your Next Step

If this resonates, don’t just think about it—experience it.

Watch the full Sunday Reset here:

And as you listen, notice your own inner voice.

Not to fix it.

But to shift how you respond to it.
